Someone is pretending to be me on TikTok — stop them fast
Someone is pretending to be you on TikTok, copying your name, your videos, or your face to fool your audience. You can get it taken down, you do not need the fake account's login, and this guide shows you exactly how, plus how to keep the next clone from sticking.
TikTok impersonators often repost your clips or use your photos, then message your followers about fake collabs, giveaways, or "investment" tips in your name. TikTok's rules prohibit impersonation, so a clear report is your fastest route.
Capture it first
- Screenshot the fake profile: handle, photo, bio and follower count.
- Save any videos it reposted from you and any scam messages it sent.
- Note the exact handle, since clones usually differ from yours by a character or two.
Report the impersonator on TikTok
- Open the impersonator's TikTok profile.
- Tap the three-dot menu (or Share) in the top right.
- Tap Report, then Report account.
- Choose Impersonation and follow the prompts. Provide ID if TikTok asks.
Our full TikTok impersonator report guide covers the impersonation form and what to do if the first report is rejected.
Get it removed faster
- Have your followers report it too. Multiple reports carry more weight.
- Submit a clear ID if asked, so the review is not delayed.
- Post a warning on your real account so your audience does not engage with the fake.
Want them gone without the back and forth?
For a one time $297, a Thuros Security specialist finds every account impersonating you across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, files the takedowns, and emails you a report of what was removed. No subscription, no login, no password.
Not sure if a fake exists yet? Run a free scan
Most creators do not find out until a follower flags it. Drop your details and a Thuros Security team member will scan Instagram and TikTok by hand and email you any accounts using your name and photos.
What to do when they keep coming back
Here is the part most guides skip: impersonators reappear. Take one down and a new clone often shows up days later under a slightly different handle. It turns into a game of whack-a-mole, and checking by hand every week is exhausting and easy to forget.
That is where ongoing monitoring matters. Instead of hoping you catch the next fake, a monitoring service watches for new clones automatically and files the takedowns for you. You can see how that works on our how it works page, or compare plans from $49 a month.
